John Wright is Research Support Librarian within the library service of the University of Wales, Bangor. He has been in this post since August ’06. His main responsibilities are two-fold:

User Support: Support particularly but not exclusively for the research community, including teaching information literacy (both to groups and 1-to-1), enquiry work, library introduction presentations etc.

Repository Development: Using repository software to develop Bangor Research Archive (BaRA) an open-access collection of Bangor’s research outputs. Advocating use of the archive through demonstration/promotion to Bangor’s research community.

When John is not being a librarian he is usually going to gigs or writing/playing his own songs, as well as playing the occasional game of 5-a-side.

Hi John,

I’m responsible for research support at Loughborough and am thinking of developing a blog to keep in contact with researchers. I just wondered whether you had any anecdotal evidence that your blog is helping you in your research support role?
